When mentoring our pre-service and in-service teachers we need to describe and model both research-based and clinically tested best practices. Accordingly our mentees should know about the Direct Instruction Model of Teaching.
On the chart below you will find some additional lesson plan ideas in seven content areas that can be transmitted by the teacher using the Direct Instruction Model of Teaching.

MIDDOT (Virtues) | How to welcome a new member into the class, how to speak to an elderly person properly, how to resolve conflict with a sibling in a respectful way, how to properly follow classroom procedures, how to follow school rules during a fire drill. |
